Time “beats” anyone . Before we start our helpful mindset concerning the so popular question , if cars can last forever we should say this as a useful “case” of our thoughts .
In our physical world , there isn’t a physical material which doesn’t gets affected , buy time .

ALL the materials which exist in our astonishing planet , during the passing of time , they “experience” the wear by the time passing . “Immortal” physical materials don’t exist in our world . I suppose immortal are the humanity’s VALUES and IDEAS , throught the centuries .

So when we wonder if a car can last forever , we mean , if it is possible to maintain our car’s condition , as close to perfection as we can . Many car ( and other vehicles/materials) exist , which were manufactured
many decades ago , even centuries and they are in top condition .

There are many collections around the world , with materials ( cars , bikes , watches , locomotives …et,c ) which the care and love of their owners , kept them in the highest level of performance .

So if you want to know if a car ( cheap or not ) , can last a great amount of time , YES of course this is possible and the examples are “countless” . How this is possible ?

But with our love in its maintenance in the maximum we can . Before all , we should separate our car’s parts and see what we can do for each part of it .

So all cars have these parts :

1) The metalic external body .

2) The chassis of the car .

3) The mechanical parts .

4) The car’s interior .

5) The tyres of the car .

1) External body .

Let’s begin with the external metalic “body” of our car and what can we do to protect it .

First of all from the day we’ll take our car from the car’s agency , we must keep it in a garage . The less time the metalic part of our car and its color , exist in the outside “world” , the better for them .

The weather conditions , rain( toxic or not there is pollution ) , moisture , the heat of the sun , the dryness , the extreme freeze and all the temperatures range , the bugs and the bird waste , the hail ,et.c ) , are damaging slowly our car’s external condition .

Often waxing with the best wax we can find in the markets , are absolute necessity .

And we would have the best waxing performance , if we asign this job to professionals . In general as often as we can we go our car to the experts , to search and analyze its external condition and what it needs , the better solutions we’ll find , to prevent problems .

If our external metalic part has a problem of any kind , we prefer to replace its “wounded” parts , immediatelly and ONLY from the OFFICIAL manufacturer .

2) The chassis of the car .

After that let’s see what we can do to protect the chassis of our car and there aren’t many to do for the chassis .

The areas we can “interfere” to our chassis are few . The chassis gets damaged by car accidents mostly and not for other factors . Sometimes , the overloading of our car , combined with a extremely big hole on the road could affect our chassis “health” but these possibilities are very tiny .

The car’s chassis are built from the manufacturers to be very strong , because all the other parts of the car are screwed on the chassis . Of course we should mention that for the pathetic safety ( it’s the ability of the chassis and body to save us if we have an accident ) , the car’s chassis are very strong and sophisticated .

So the only thing we can do , to keep the chassis in top condition is to try ALWAYS , to avoid accidents ( and of course we care for our safety and the others ) , and if something bad happened we must ONLY replace the “wounded” parts , with official parts .

We’ll say this and for the mechanical parts , but we must ALWAYS respect and have as FIRST priority , the car’s manufacturer opinion and solutions .

3) The Mechanical parts .

After the chassis area , the biggest area in which our car needs , PRECISIONIST attention and care , is the mechanical parts .

The mechanical parts of the car are the ones who have to do many “jobs” , in several conditions and they must do their “job” , without failures . What should be , our ABSOLUTE mentality and “lighthouse” approach to the mechanical parts ?

TRUST , LISTEN , FOLLOW , BUY , and act as the car’s manufacturer says . The creator of the car ALWAYS knows better , than anyone else what you should do to keep your car , at its best . Of course there are many serious and experienced car developers , in the market , but the manufacturer knows better .

Trust his solutions to any problems , you may have and don’t hesitate to ask him , even for the smallest ( even if sometimes you are wrongfully ashamed for it ) question you have . Trust and follow the manufacturers servise manual and be as precisionist you can with the maintenance .

Always use the products and the mechanical parts , the factory suggests and “close your ears” to the “countless” “magic” solutions , you’ll hear to the “streets” . If you want to use something more advanced than the basics , ask the officials what they have suggest .

All manufacturers , have basic and more advanced products for their cars . So for your car’s engine , differential , gearbox , steering wheel system , suspension , brakes , “be the wiser in the room” and try to follow exactly the instructions of your manufacturer .

4 ) The Interior of the car .

After the maintenance of the mechanical parts , the interior of the car needs care and protection too . Also the weather conditions and pollution , affects the interior of the car and combined with the use of you and your family , you understand that the interior needs protection the most .

If your interior “suffers” more than the normal , you should maintenance it more often . If your lifestyle includes pets , or extreme outdoor activities , you can imagine that the interior needs more attention than the usual .

5) The Tyres of your car .

Last but not least we’ll speak for the tyres of your car . Keeping the size of the rim as your factory has it , is always the best . Of course we all have seen cars with extremely wide rims and tyres and even if , in some cars this looks beautifull , it’s completely wrong , if you don’t have the approval of the official creator of the car .

In the side of the tire , the date of production exist , in all tires and you can check , when your tires were created . Avoid the old tires even if the price they’ll give you is way lower . Your safety is above ALL and the tires and brakes of the car , are the major facts for it .

Nothing is impossible in life and if you are willing to spend time , love , yes and money to keep your precious car , in the best shape and for million of miles , YOU CAN DO IT .
