At the end (almost) of his campaign , Alexander the Great and his Macedonians wanted to conquer the city of Mallon in 326 b.c , if i remember correctly .

This city was very good protected . Ok , Alexander knew that he should do something , to brake this so well-fixed defence , moreover , it wasn’t the first time , he needed something unique and clever to bent ANYONE standing against him and his brave fighters .

But this time , he realized that he had a very crucial issue-problem to solve , maybe more serious than other times in his crusade .

His army after a decate of constant war and battles , was VERY TIRED , exhausted , with “heavy” psychology , and streched limits . Alexander saw that and realized at once ,that he must give a solution ,and tone up his soldiers mood , motivation and will power .

Without for a tiny nano-second hesitation , he grabs his shield and run across the field against the hole city walls ALL ALONE !!! , without the protection of his personal guards , or anyone .

One of his guards( Perseas i think ) who was nearer to him ,sees him , running against all and he cannot believe that Alexander did this again .Alexander , used to attack first of all in the battlefield , NO MATTER HOW MANY ENEMIES WERE AROUND HIM .

He was a very brutal and determined man and his bravery was competing his intelligence .

So the King is running ahead and his guard behind him , trying to catch him .The other guards were coming with delay , caught themselves in the “sleep” , didn’t expect their King’s reaction .

The Greek army watched the scene , with their mouths wide open , i suppose watching their king , teach them a royal bravery lesson , for another time .

Alexander catches a ladder put it in the high walls and climping holding with his one hand his shield , while countless arrows , whistles near him .

He doesn’t care , he climbs faster and faster ,wanted to reach the top and enters inside the fortress .His guard is closer now and the other guards are coming too .When his guard is reaching the top and finally enters the fortress what he sees is the epitome of PURE HEROISM .

Alexander has his back safe touching the wall and avoiding the enemies encircle him and FIGHTING DOZENS OF ENEMIES in front of him and slaughter them like a God of WAR !! . His guard immediatelly runs to him to assist him and they “share” the slaughtery now .

Outside the Macedonians were as “mad dogs” ,trying to climb the fortress walls having no lader or something like that . Their King is inside fighting like a lion and they want to enter as soon as possible .

Their blood is “boiling” and and their thirsty for VICTORY is beyong imagination . The climb the fortress , with no protection at all , accepted the arrows from the above , but they “DON’T CARE” .

They step each others backs to rise and step into the fortress .

As long as they sense their King in danger , their lust for blood , for steel and fire , made them wild joungle animals .Inside the fortress , Alexander and his other guards were fighting as no human can imagine .

His guards know that the enemies want to kill Alexander like “maniacs” , they want his royal dead body as a trophy , they want to be written in history .

That’s why they fighting so good . They have the ULTIMATE MOTIVATION . But Alexander and his guards , are vanishing their plans and send many of them to Hades .

One of his guards takes an arrow in his eye and dies at once . Alexander takes an arrow in his chest ,his breastplate brokes and the arrow spikes his lung !!! .

The Macedodian King doesn’t care much(!) ,he kills a couple of more enemies , but his blood loss is huge , he faints and FALLS down .

The enemies like “maniacs” ,are making a huge attack to his guards to take Alexanders body ,because they thought he is dead .The remain guard throws his shield above Alexander and with every strength he has , he protects and pulls the faint King’s body , to his side .

If Homer could have seen this EPIC battlefield , i suppose we would have another of his masterpieces as Odyssey and Iliad . As the remain guard was fighting ,the Macedonians were up the walls and ready to help him and protect their King .

When Alexander’s army saw the hole scene , they got mad as never before . Like frantic wild animals , like killer-instict predators hungry for flesh and blood , they slaughter anyone who stand in their way , with “alien” brutality and rawness . They left zero alive enemies .

Alexander’s body was taken to the surgery ,who had cured his father Phillip also from a serious battle wound . The arrow had sting his lung and all of the doctors and surroundings , were very afraid to proceed .

Sometime Alexander found his sensation , and saw the doctors afraid and sceptical . Immediately he grabs a scissor or something like that and cuts the arrow which projects his chest , to help the doc pull it out .

The same time he YELLS (!) the doctors and the others to do the job , TO ACT with bravery and determination . And faints again . Anyway the surgery went well and Alexander was at his feet , in a week !!!! .

Sometimes acting with zero thinking , isn’t a sign of stupidity , a sign of superficiality ,naiveness ,lack of intelligence , lack of deep thought , lack of personality’s depth ,lack of philosophical approach in life and lack of culture and boyishness .

Sometimes , your pure instinct , the acceptance of the spontaneous call of your heart under the highest pressure , the true belief in yourself , but as a complete human , the strength not to “count” your precious self and ignore your survival instict (the CREATOR has given you and holds you back sometimes using your fears ) , the ability and will to sacrifice what others don’t won’t to sacrifice , the mood to crumble your “icon” and don’t care , for your surroundings opinion , the WILL TO WIN YOURSELF , is BETTER than other “politically correct ” methods .

Act ,finish the “job” , no matter what ,with the best way you’ll decide with no hesitation and “second” thoughts ,trying to make the fewest mistakes possible , DURING THE PROCESS .

And how can you make the fewest mistakes ,during the process for as much as your time of reaction and choosing the best decicion , are NANO-SECONDS ? Your experiences as a human till that moment , are your judgement “tools” .
